Description
The Research Team of the Academy for Tourism at Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas) carries out applied and academic research on tourism, with a strong European and international orientation. Our work spans national and EU-funded projects, and our team collaborates closely with partners across the sector, from universities and networks to industry and policy organisations.
As a (placement) research assistant, you will work alongside experienced researchers and support the full breadth of our research activities. This is a hands-on role that gives you a realistic, behind-the-scenes view of how applied research is planned, carried out, communicated, and managed.
Tasks
- Research administration and data management: registering research outputs in PURE (our research information system) and helping to maintain, clean, and organise research data in databases and spreadsheets.
- Literature work: searching, collecting, and helping to organise academic and professional literature to support ongoing studies.
- Fieldwork support: providing practical assistance during data collection and other research fieldwork (for example, preparing materials, supporting sessions, and helping to process results).
- Communication and visibility: drafting and scheduling social media and LinkedIn posts, and helping to communicate research activities and findings to relevant audiences.
- Coordination and scheduling: arranging appointments and meeting series, and generally helping to keep projects running smoothly.
- Events: supporting the organisation of internal and external events, such as workshops, seminars, and conferences.
